Mob Mentality

I don't get why everyone is cynical. Since when is wanting hope such a naive thing? Isn't that the very core of religion or beliefs? I feel like from when we were little we are drilled to do things we don't like simply because 'that's just the way things are'. Then we grow up and we're expected to be critical but the very second we criticise the system and want change, we're dismissed as being naive or completely foolish simply because 'change is impossible, it's better to just adapt and survive'. The fuck is this? Life or Hanna? (Which by the way has a magnificent subway fight scene, did the ambitious direction jeopardise the story? Probably, I personally  didn't get the point of the movie).
