(*)Gray Area: Debit by Yours Truly

I opened a savings account at the bank today. I don't know how to feel about that too be honest.. I've always wanted to keep my money stashed in the fridge or a secret compartment of the dresser's drawers or stitched inside my mattress or under the walls of our kitchen. Simply because I don't like the idea of having people be in charge of my money. Also because:

1. I know how they nailed Al Capone: paper trail. Any suspicious withdrawals or deposits mean the cops have reasonable suspicion which can eventually lead to a warrant so they can track down my activities in details. This is why the cleanest bad guys do everything in cash. No proof, no tracks, no captures. I'm not saying I want to commit tax evasion, I just don't want to leave the door closed..

2. The whole bailout craze not too long ago. What if the bank gave loans to heaps of people, what if those people can't pay the bank back. what if the government has other priorities or decides they are not fit to bail the bank out, what if all my money disappears and never comes back? I don't care for collaterals, if I deposited money, I don't want to suddenly be given back a house in the prairie complete with children.

3. Actually, don't even go too far away in refferences, remember the monetary crisis that hit Asia in the 90s? I don't even know what happened before then, probably even worse collapses.. But the government decides to push down the inflation rates by cutting off a few zeros in the currency. So say I had 5 million in the safe, I can end up with 5 thousand or even just 5! Point zero. No can do mister, I saw how much madness overtook the country when majority realised their money suddenly pulled a Houdini.

4. And if this isn't a huge problem on its own, I just don't know anymore.. THE PAPERWORKS! So much to just open an account, so much to file a complaint, so much to report missing things. Then there's the whole bureaucracy that's just completely bogus, nothing will get done until months later.
