Like reality, this won't make much sense

Aldous Huxley wrote in The Genius and the Goddess: "The trouble with fiction... is that it makes too much sense. Reality never makes sense."

Fiction must make sense because we invent it and we can only truly invent something that we understand. And so I feel that sometimes fiction makes for such a beautiful escape, especially when it is shot and directed in such a beautiful way and everything is orchestrated to beautiful scoring and soundtrack like Drive. That movie is messed up but it is stylish as hell, almost so stylish that I wouldn't mind accepting all that messed up shit as reality if it meant every aspect of reality is artistically directed in much the same way. Let me ask you this though, how exactly is our reality less messed up than that reality? The closer fiction is to reality, the less we understand it. Why did that character do that? They just felt like it. And that's the kind of explanation that we should ever expect whenever we question some of the most confusing things in life. Shit just happens and it happens perpetually without any real purpose or end.

I never truly understood the saying "stranger than fiction" because what is strange, really? Confusing as hell? Because society, the world, the universe is a strange place, and stranger still is the fact that they are all real.

I don't know where I was going with this.
