The beauty of simplicity

Note: for the full experience, listen while reading

Listen to Sir Paul McCartney’s unique guitar stylings. Blackbird singing in the dead of night. Listen to the tapping that guides the song. Take these broken wings and learn to fly. Listen to how well each component of the song complements each other. All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Sometimes a song transcends time and emotion through its ability to reach out to people and for those who hear it to be able to relate to the song in a deeply personal level. You know how sometimes people say a lot more when they say so little? Often times the brilliance of a song lies not in the intricate guitar solos or on ornately written lyrics but in the simplicity of a man with his guitar, inspired by the changes he sees in the world. It’s this simplicity that gives the song such a powerful message of innocence and hope. This is why Blackbird has and always will stand through the test of time.

You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Don't say a word right now, just listen to the song, to the rhythm, it feels like coming home. It feels safe. It feels like being held by your mother, her calming voice telling you that everything is going to be okay. Because life is hard, it's long and filled with struggles of a losing battle but we must keep fighting against all odds because it's human, or so we convince ourselves. The reality is that humans are weak, we lose hope and we need to constantly be brought back into the light. Sometimes we come back because of a song, other times because of a simple human connection. But remember this, whoever you are, remember that you need to fight, remember that we will wait for you at the end of the day, remember that we love you.

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly, into the light of the dark black night.
